Medicare rebates for Physiotherapy or Exercise Physiology (EP)

At PROHEALTH PHYSIO & FITNESS we make claiming a Medicare rebate for physiotherapy or exercise physiology (EP) quick and easy.

There are some simple steps before you are able to claim Medicare rebates for physiotherapy or EP.

The Medicare program has had some name changes with Medicare rebates for physiotherapy or EP currently known as Chronic Disease Management (CDM) yet previously was called Enhanced Primary Care (EPC).

Steps involved

• Chronic Condition – you need to have what is deemed a chronic and complex musculoskeletal condition. This might sound a bit scary yet a chronic condition is generally considered a problem or condition that you have had for longer than 6 months or is likely to last more than 6 months. The complex component typically means you need it to be managed by a General Practitioner (GP). Tip: Speak to your GP about these requirements, as you need to qualify to be eligible
• CDM Plan or Referral – your GP will assess your eligibility and when approved your GP will complete paperwork and provide you with your Chronic Disease Management Plan (CDM)
• Treatment – bring your CDM referral when you visit PROHEALTH PHYSIO & FITNESS for physiotherapy or EP consultations to get some excellent treatment and advice 🙂

Payment Options

• Medicare Rebate + Gap Payment – at completion of your session, you pay your full fee and then our team will immediately process your Medicare claim or rebate Medicare Rebate + Discounted Gap Payment – Discounted Medicare gap payments are provided for specific clients where the payment you are required to make is lower than our normal private clients.
• Medicare Rebate – From July 2022 of $56.00. The rebate amount is reviewed by Australian Government each year

Savings

• We can process your Medicare rebate on the spot for you right in our clinic. This means you don’t have to visit a Medicare office saving your precious time!
• The Medicare rebate is usually a lot higher than what most private health funds will give you.
