What is Physiotherapy?

Physiotherapy is the treatment of injury, conditions, disease and disorders through physical methods — such as exercise, massage, manipulation and other types treatments — over the medication and surgery.

What is Exercise Physiology (EP)?

Accredited Exercise Physiologists (AEP) specialise in clinical exercise interventions for people with a broad range of health issues. People with risks of developing, or have existing, medical conditions and injuries.

EP interventions aims to prevent or manage acute, sub-acute or chronic disease or injury and assist in restoring an individual’s optimal physical function, health or wellness.

EP specialise in prescribing exercise-based programs including providing:

  • health and physical activity education
  • advice and support
  • lifestyle modification with a strong focus on achieving behavioural change

How can I book a physio or exercise physiologist (EP)?

You don't need a doctor's referral to see a physiotherapist or exercise physiologist (EP).

To book a physio consultation or an EP Session you can:

What to expect on your first visit?

At the initial consultation, our physio will ask you various questions regarding items like your medical history, current/past physical injuries, medications, aggravating activities, your injury/pain/condition, and related matters.

You will then be assessed using an array of special tests and movements to determine your likely diagnosis.

Following the assessment, a tailored and individualised physiotherapy treatment plan will be discussed and followed through targeting the recovery of the injured body part. This may also include an exercise program if it is applicable to your condition.

Your physio will discuss if ongoing treatment is required, and the number of likely consultations needed to get you back to your pre-injury level of function.

In your first Exercise Physiology (EP) session, your EP will review your personal circumstances, medical history and health goals before conducting an initial assessment and

What should I wear to my appointment?

Our team will always respect your privacy &

For our physio clients - depending on the location of your pain or injury or nature of condition, given COVID we suggest you either wear or bring comfortable clothes like active wear, shorts or t-shirt.

In non-COVID impacted times, we have gowns or towels for draping yet under current health guidelines & for your safety we do not currently offer these itesm.

For our EP clients - please bring or wear exercise appropriate clothing, shoes & a towel.

What private health insurance do you accept?

We are a regsitered provider for accept all major and heaps of small botique health insurers.

How much do I get back from my health fund?

The rebate you may receive from your health fund will depend on which health insurance policy you have and also your specific level of cover.

When in our clinic, our friendly team can quickly do a Hicaps quote to identify the rebate you would receive for a physio or exercise physiology service.

You can also contact your health insurer to obtain further information on your level of cover.

What payment methods do you accept?

For the safety of our clients and staff, we prefer electronic rather than cash payments.

We happily accept:

  • Visa, Mastercard and Amex credit card payments without no surcharge
  • Tap & go or swipe EFT over the counter payments from bank accounts
  • Hicaps instant health insurance claims

We also happily arrange payments on behalf of our clients for:

  • Workers compensation
  • CTP
  • DVA
  • NDIS
  • Sports insurance
  • Travel insurance
  • Medicare

Is there free parking available?

If you are unfamiliar Lane Cove, there is many council & free parking options located very close to PROHEALTH PHYSIO & FITNESS.

The surrounding streets, car park lots and the local council parking situated on Little St (opposite the pool), Birdwood Lane (The Canopy) and Longueville Road.

Do you process on the spot refunds?

Our friendly team can process on the spot claims for private health insurance via Hicaps, Medicare (CDM), as well as workers compensation, CTP & DVA payments.

For Sports Insurance claims, we will happily provide you with assistance to make your claim with you paying us directly & then the insurance company will reimburse you for approved claims.

Gap free Medicare bulk billing for CDM/EPC plans?

At PROHEALTH PHYSIO & FITNESS, we proudly offer Medicare bulk billing options for Chronic Disease Management (CDM) or previously known as Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) clients.

This means at non-peak times, PROHEALTH PHYSIO & FITNESS is one of the only physio or EP practices that provide you with no out of pocket expense!

Gap-free CDM consultations are 20 minutes.

For a small gap payment you can book an appointment at peak time or have a full length consultation / session.

Remember you will need your Doctor’s CDM Plan referral for your initial physio or EP consultation.

When should I see a physiotherapist?

It is highly recommended that if you feel any symptoms that affect your ability to continue participating in your home, work or sporting and leisure activities to the same level, you see a physiotherapist as early intervention is key to success recovery.
