What is an Exercise Physiologist?
Exercise Physiologists are university qualified allied health professionals who have a comprehensive understanding of the human body and specialise in designing and delivering safe and effective exercise interventions for individuals with acute, sub-acute or chronic conditions, injuries, or disabilities.
Why choose an Exercise Physiologist?
Exercise Physiologists are required by Exercise & Sports Science Australia (ESSA) to receive extensive training and meet a requirement of 20 Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Points annually. Therefore, Exercise Physiologists continue to educate themselves after university with the latest research and news, upskilling themselves and reinforcing the knowledge and expertise acquired from a minimum 4-year tertiary course.
What is the difference between an Exercise Physiologist and a Physiotherapist?
Exercise Physiologists and physiotherapists are similar in many aspects where they are both equipped with knowledge, skills and competencies that focus on management and prevention of injury, disability, pain, and impairment. Exercise Physiologists primarily treat patients/clients through clinical exercise interventions as their main modality and have a strong focus on managing chronic conditions, injuries and disabilities. Physiotherapists assess, diagnose, treat and manage acute injury, disability and pain through manual handling and soft tissue mobilisation as their main modality.
What is the difference between an Exercise Physiologist and a Personal Trainer?
Exercise Physiologists and Personal Trainers are qualified to design and deliver exercise intervention with the purpose of improving athletic performance, achieving fitness goals and weight management in low-risk clients. Exercise Physiologist’s are recognized allied health practitioners whose scope of practice allows them to work within a clinical setting as they have the expertise and necessary skills to prevent, manage and treat chronic diseases and conditions, musculoskeletal injuries, and weight management.

Reviews

I felt truly supported and cared for, and I’m so grateful for their expertise! would highly recommend them to anyone looking for effective and caring treatment:)
One star after a very unfortunate incident at the register. The HICAPS process was a difficult one for the operator with some multiple transactions occurring at the one visit. It took a few phone calls to sort out the finances and I had to engage my health fund. All that happened where I found no fault with the physio service – indeed, the physio service put me on the path to recovery.
I was shocked with the need to deal with my health fund out of pride of a long-term membership that has seen my household through many ups and downs. Health fund had to be first where the physio practice was a long second.
Like a lot of men, I always delay attending to my health – and my mild pain was unimportant in the big scheme of things. All in all, it took me a lot to admit that I needed professional help and a week or two of dithering prior to making an appointment. Now, while all my procrastinating is my own drama, it did lead to a state where I would flight if anything went wrong.
After the unfortunate transaction I took to Dr Google. One exercise that Dr Google (actually Dr Youtube) offered on first study turned out to be the best of all the exercises that I had been instructed to use. I can’t think that Dr Youtube alone fixed me as I appreciate that the physio’s instructions were sound as a way of starting on return to health, but Dr Youtube clearly presented as a wealth of information.
The experience taught me to rely on Youtube first and then a visit to a physio second.
Easy to book, easy to find, friendly and pragmatic!
I highly recommend Lane Cove ProHealth Physio, the team including the owners Marc and Julie have been very personable throughout my visits, answering all my questions along the way.
Their fees are also very reasonable for this side of town.
Thanks
Ann
Initial consultation today. Turns out the reviews are all true & Steven really is outstanding! We are very blessed to have someone of Steven's calibre, skill & professionalism in Lane Cove. Yes, I'm definitely going back! ????
Moreover, his polite and kind demeanor is crucial, particularly when dealing with patients who have multiple medical issues. It's essential for healthcare providers to create a compassionate and respectful environment, as it fosters trust and enhances the patient's overall experience.
Thanks Steven Saba!
I am grateful N thankful.
God bless you Conner
My physiotherapist was Valeria, she was highly professional and very skilled. She helped me to relief terrible pain in both arms caused by repetitive movements and constantly lifting my baby. She also showed me some exercises that have been helping me so I don't injure myself again. She was friendly and respectful. Her treatment was very comprehensive, I cannot do anything but recommend her.
Steven was very easy going and took time to listen to everything I explained - type and level of pain, location, potential causes, what helped/exacerbated it etc - and treated everything methodically while adapting to things he noticed or things that changed during treatment. He also gave clear and simple instructions for the mobility and strength exercises, and after two sessions gave me enough info to self-manage my recovery (which has worked brilliantly).
Can't fault the clinic, resources and rest of the staff either - a great setup with friendly and helpful people.
The staff are also very friendly and welcoming. Definitely recommend!
